Beautiful little cove. A bit more wind protected than chrissy field. Currently undergoing some rebuilding so parking is a little tight. But if you want an intimate picnic cove this is the place. Fun fact it’s in front of the Swiss embassy. The only downside is the bathroom situation is subpar with some pretty old and rarely cleaned port a potties. Also one of the few beaches I feel comfortable swimming in. Bring blankets and sweatshirts for the evening time.
A small beach but crowded unexpectedly, it is really nice view. Mark 😊 …
Clean and not crowded ,but it's not that big ,not recommended for swimming or surfing.
China Beach is a cool, quirky little spot that I love. I am a photographer and work with a lot of local families – China Beach offers a quieter space than the more popular Baker Beach, with similar views and a more intimate feel. The beach itself is very tide dependent. At high tide there isn't a lot of sand, and at the lowest tides you can actually connect China Beach to the others on either side of it. Parking has historically been at the top of a steep set of stairs, and is somewhat limited, though they are making renovations currently. Anyways, if you're looking for a slightly off-the-beaten path beach experience in SF, China Beach is worth a try!
This is a true hidden gem! Stunning beauty amazing view of Golden Gate. No shower facilities though :/
I have been there twice and definitely third time is coming. Beach is cleverly hidden in one of the reachest neighborhoods of San Francisco with Switzerland embassy right next to it (coincidence?). This beach used to have public amenities as well like public showers but they been phased out. Right now there are only honey bucket kinda restrooms left. But still better than nothing! The beach is separated by a rock on two, smaller and a bigger one. Smaller one is definitely more quite and private. On occasion you can observe some nudist on it. San Francisco you gotta love.
This is an ok beach. Nice shot of Golden Gate. It has a ramp and stairs that are easy to get down, but harder to come up. This beach has 2 sides a rigid side and a plane beach. There is also a abandoned building, which I have no idea what it was before.
A quiet, secluded beach with a pretty nice view of the Golden Gate bridge. Impressively people swim here.
